Group Show / Triennial Slovenia / 2O11

Katia Baudin, the curator of this ambitious show including more than one hundred twenty artworks, invited me to design the exhibition layout. As a point of departure she chose three emblematic objects made by iconic artists who have profoundly influenced the course of art as well as design in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries: Marcel Duchamp‘s Boîte en valise, Kasimir Malevich‘s Teapot and Nikolaj Suetin‘s Suprematist coffee cup and saucer. The rest of the exhibition illustrates the repercussions of these artists on today‘s artists and designers. The artworks are divided into groups introducing three "constellations" composed of several "satellites". In my exhibition design these sections are materialised by various tables with intersecting shapes, colours and materials. They function as a system, helping the visitor to distinguish and understand the different groups and concepts.
