Restaurants / Paris / 2OO7-2O13
Despite being a Costes restaurant, Corso does not give the feeling of being in a typical design-restaurant.For the first Corso the existing bistrot-like spirit was preserved and is contrasting with a radically new, coral colored, resin lacquered bar counter. In the second Corso there are several elements recalling the first restaurant but also lots of other new ones, such as the bar and tables made out of Ductal concrete, the Hatchlights with reflectors made of reflecting adhesive tape, the mirrors and shelves etc. The third Corso marks the beginning of the Corso chain. Besides the whole interior architecture and art direction, we also designed a new bistro chair which is now produced by Thonet. The graphic identity is designed by M/M Paris. The following Corso are an organic evolution of the original concept where some elements are repeated and others change. Each restaurant strongly adapts to the given architectural context and our design intervention ranges from minimal to overall redefinition.
